Mairie Labastidette

Labastidette ( Occitan Vilanava Tolosana ) is a French commune with 2563 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region . The inhabitants are called labastidettois .

Parish Church of the Birth of Mary

Labastidette lies on irrigation canal Canal de Saint-Martory and the rivers Ousseau and touch , 20 km south-west of Toulouse and part of the Aire urbaine de Toulouse (extended urban area), and the Communauté d'agglomération du Muretain (of municipalities).

As the name suggests, the community is probably an old bastide , a city in southern France founded in the Middle Ages and largely built in one train. The construction of a bastide was based on economic, political or military considerations.

The parish church dates from the 19th century.
