Fontenilles ( Occitan : Fontanilhas ) is a French commune with 5935 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region . Fontenilles is part of the Muret arrondissement and the Plaisance-du-Touch canton . The inhabitants are called Fontenillois (es) .

geography

Fontenilles is located in the historic province of Savès , about 21 kilometers southwest of Toulouse on the Aussonnelle . Fontenilles is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Pujaudran and Léguevin in the north, La Salvetat-Saint-Gilles in the northeast, Plaisance-du-Touch in the east, Fonsorbes in the southeast, Saint-Lys in the south, Saiguède in the southwest, Bonrepos-sur-Aussonnelle in the west and Liars to the northeast.
