Auterive ( Occitan Autariba ) is a French commune in the Haute-Garonne ( Région Occitania ) with 9752 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017). It is part of the arrondissement of Muret and the capital of the canton of Auterive .
location
The municipality is located about 30 kilometers south of Toulouse and 19 kilometers east of Muret in the Ariège valley , a tributary of the Garonne . The river Mouillonne runs along the western boundary of the municipality . It consists exclusively of the main town Auterive. It is crossed by the Départementsstraße D 820. In the north, there is an industrial area, somewhat separated.
Neighboring municipalities are (from the north clockwise): Grépiac , Labruyère-Dorsa , Auragne , Mauvaisin , Cintegabelle , Caujac , Mauressac , Grazac , Lagrâce-Dieu , Puydaniel and Miremont .

Attractions
The Saint-Paul church is of Romanesque origin. The tower and facade date from the 14th century. Since 1926 (tower and facade) / 1990 (interior design) it has been under monument protection as Monument historique .
Partnerships
Auterive's partner municipality is the German municipality of Südheide in Lower Saxony. In 1979 the partnership was concluded with the then independent municipality of Hermannsburg, which is now a district of Südheide. Other partner communities are Arenys de Mar in Catalonia (Spain) and Fontanelle in the Italian region of Veneto .
