Gensac-sur-Garonne ( Gençac de Garona in Occitan ) is a French commune with 442 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). Gensac-sur-Garonne belongs to the Arrondissement Muret and the canton Auterive (until 2015 Rieux-Volvestre ). The inhabitants are called Gensacois .

geography

Gensac-sur-Garonne is located about 28 kilometers south-southwest of Muret on the Garonne , which borders the municipality in the north-west. Gensac-sur-Garonne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Julien-sur-Garonne in the north, Rieux-Volvestre in the northeast, Goutevernisse in the east, Saint-Christaud in the south and Cazères in the west.
