Montgazin ( Occitan : Montgasin ) is a French commune with 197 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Muret and the canton of Auterive (until 2015: canton of Carbonne ). Their inhabitants are called Gazimontains .

geography

Montgazin is located about 35 kilometers south-southwest of Toulouse and 16 kilometers south of Muret on the Aunat river , which forms the western municipal boundary. Montgazin is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montaut in the north, Saint-Sulpice-sur-Lèze in the northeast, Lézat-sur-Lèze in the south and east, Lacaugne in the southwest and Marquefave in the west.
