Rieumes ( Occitan : Riumas ) is a French commune with 3509 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department and the Occitanie region . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Muret and the canton of Cazères . The inhabitants are called Rieumois (es) .
geography
The Bure , a tributary of the Touch , flows through the municipality and borders the municipality in the southeast. The Lac de l'Esperes lies on the northern edge of the municipality . Rieumes is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Beaufort in the north, Sainte-Foy-de-Peyrolières in the north and northeast, Poucharramet in the east, Bérat in the southeast, Savères in the south, Lautignac in the southwest, Plagnole and Forgues in the west, and Lahage and Montgras in the northwest.
