Seysses is a French commune with 9055 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region . The inhabitants are called Seyssois, Seyssoises .

Seysses is located on the irrigation canal Canal de Saint-Martory and the river Ousseau , 19 kilometers south of Toulouse and is part of the Aire urbaine de Toulouse (extended urban).

Pierre-Paulin Cardinal Andrieu (1849–1935), Archbishop of Marseille and later Bordeaux , was born in Seysses.

On April 29, 2012, a moderate tornado caused some property damage in the village.

Maison d'arrêt de Seysses

The Maison d'arrêt de Seysses (prison) is intended for remand prisoners and offenders who have been sentenced to a maximum of three years. For those sentenced to longer prison terms, it is only a transit facility. The house is divided into two objects for men, one for women and one for young people, and is subject to the appellate court and the higher court in Toulouse. Built in 2003, it has space for 596 prisoners.
