The high-speed line Hefei – Bengbu ( Chinese 合 蚌 客運 專線 ) or Hebeng PDL (after the initial syllables of Hefei and Bengbu) is a branch line of the Chinese high-speed line Beijing – Shanghai , which branches off the main line at Bengbu and goes to Hefei , the capital of Anhui province , leads.
Construction of the 130.67 km long line began in January 2009 and is expected to cost ¥ 13.6 billion (€ 1.66 billion). The route is designed for 350 km / h. It is in trial operation in August 2012, with speeds of up to 385 km / h, and is to be released for commercial passenger traffic at the end of 2012.
