The Palais des congrès de Paris is a convention and event hall in the 17th arrondissement of Paris .

The hall designed by the architect Guillaume Gillet was opened in 1974. It houses four halls: the large amphitheater ( Grande amphithéâtre ) with 3,723 seats and the smaller halls Bordeaux , Bleu and Havane . There are also various conference rooms and a shopping gallery.

The César Awards and the Concours Eurovision de la Chanson in 1978 took place in the Palais several times from 1976 onwards . The musicals Starmania , Notre Dame de Paris and Roméo et Juliette, de la Haine à l'Amour had their premieres here.

Artists who have performed at the Palais include Ray Charles , Liza Minnelli , Bruce Springsteen , Chantal Goya , Sonic Youth , Bob Dylan , Donna Summer , Elton John , Alicia Keys , Serge Lama , Sylvie Vartan , Charles Aznavour and Michel Sardou .
