Savès

Territorial extension of the Savès

Savès (pagus Saveneii) was a small Gascon province in the southeast of the department of Gers and the southwest of the department of Haute-Garonne . The main town in the landscape was Lombez .

Savès comprised parts of today's cantons Le Fousseret , L'Isle-en-Dodon , Lombez , Rieumes , Saint-Lys and Samatan and corresponded to the lower reaches of the Save, a tributary of the Garonne . Neighboring landscapes are Astarac in the west, Nébouzan in the southwest, Volvestre in the south, Gimois in the northwest and Lomagne in the north.
