The Canton of Rieumes was 2015 a French canton in the Arrondissement Muret , in Haute-Garonne and the region Midi-Pyrenees ; its main town was Rieumes . His representative in the General Council of the Département was Francis Laffont ( PS ) from 2004 to 2010 . He was followed by Jennifer Courtois-Périsée ( UMP ).
geography
The canton was in the center of the Haute-Garonne department. In the west it bordered on the Gers department , in the north on the canton Saint-Lys , in the east on the canton Muret , in the southeast on the canton Carbonne and in the south on the canton Le Fousseret . Its area was between 196 m in the municipalities of Poucharramet and Sabonnères and 352 m in Le Pin-Murelet above sea level .
