La Salvetat-Saint-Gilles is located in the greater Toulouse area on the Aussonnelle River , about fifteen kilometers west-southwest of the city.

La Salvetat-Saint-Gilles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Léguevin in the north and west, Plaisance-du-Touch in the west and south and Fontenilles in the south-west.
