Saint-Jory ( Occitan : Sent-Jòri ) is a commune in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region of France . It has 5797 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). Saint-Jory belongs to the arrondissement of Toulouse and the canton of Castelginest . The inhabitants are called Saint-Joryen (ne) .
geography
Saint-Jory extends over an area of 19.1 km² at heights between 105 and 125 m above sea level and is located about 17 kilometers northwest of Toulouse . The Garonne delimits the municipality in the west, the Hers-Mort in the east. Saint-Jory is surrounded by the neighboring communities Grenade in the north and northwest, Castelnau-d'Estrétefonds in the northeast, Saint-Sauveur in the east, Bruguières in the southeast, Lespinasse in the south, Gagnac-sur-Garonne in the southwest and Merville in the west.
The former Route nationale 20 (today: Départementstraße 820) runs through the municipality .
