Le Burgaud ( Occitan : Le Burgau ) is a French commune with 979 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Toulouse and the Canton of Léguevin (until 2015: Canton Grenade ). The inhabitants are called Burgaudains .

Le Burgaud is located about 31 kilometers northwest of Toulouse . Le Burgaud is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Beaupuy in the north and north-west, Savenès in the north and north-east, Aucamville in the east, Saint-Cézert in the east and south-east, Launac in the south, Drudas in the south-west and Bellesserre in the west.

history

During the Middle Ages, a Kommanderie of the Order of St. John existed here from 1215. The bastide was founded in 1286.
