Villematier ( Occitan Vilamatièr ) is a commune in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region of France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Toulouse and the canton of Villemur-sur-Tarn . The 1,053 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) are called Villematiérains .

geography

Villematier is located about 18 kilometers north-northeast of Toulouse on the Tarn river , which borders the municipality in the south. Villematier is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Villemur-sur-Tarn in the north and west, Bondigoux in the east, La Magdelaine-sur-Tarn in the south-east, Vacquiers in the south and Villeneuve-lès-Bouloc in the south-west.
