Castelginest ( Occitan : Castèlginèst ) is a French commune with 10,467 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Toulouse and the canton of Castelginest . The inhabitants are called Castelginestois .
geography
Castelginest is a northern banlieue of Toulouse . Castelginest is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gratentour in the north, Pechbonnieu in the northeast and east, Saint-Loup-Cammas in the southeast, Launaguet in the south, Fonbeauzard in the southwest, Saint-Alban in the west and Bruguières in the northwest.

The small Saint-Pierre church has been proven to belong to the Saint-Sermin de Toulouse monastery as early as 960.
