Labège is a commune with 4044 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in southern France , in the Occitanie region and in the Haute-Garonne department .
geography
The city is located on the junction of the Camino de Santiago over the river Hers . It is located southeast of Toulouse and belongs to the Sicoval municipal association, which was founded in 2001 . Neighboring municipalities are Toulouse in the north, Saint-Orens-de-Gameville in the east, Escalquens and Castanet-Tolosan in the south and Auzeville-Tolosane and Ramonville-Saint-Agne in the west.
history
During the Middle Ages, Labège was a scattered settlement, which was spread over the entire municipality. From the end of the Middle Ages onwards, a community core developed around the church. The first church was built in 1232 by the archpriest Caraman. Since 1960 there are numerous offices and laboratories in the area of the "Labège Innopole" (north of the community center).

Christian Lavigne ( Parti Socialiste ) was Mayor from March 2008 to March 2014 . Since then it has been Claude Ducert.

Infrastructure
Labège has two stations on the Bordeaux – Sète line : Labège-Innopole and Labège-Village . These are served by the TER Midi-Pyrénées trains.
The École nationale supérieure des ingénieurs en arts chimiques et technologiques (ENSIACET) is located in Labège .
