Aignes belongs to the arrondissement of Toulouse and the canton of Escalquens (until 2015 Cintegabelle ). The inhabitants are called Aignois (es) .

Aignes is located about 34 kilometers south-southwest of Toulouse in the Lauragais . Aignes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Léon in the north, Nailloux in the north and north-east, Montgeard in the east, Calmont in the south and south-east, Cintegabelle in the west and south-west and Mauvaisin in the north-west.
