Bouloc is a French commune with 4659 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region (previously Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Toulouse and the canton of Villemur-sur-Tarn (previously Fronton ). The inhabitants are called Boulocain (ne) s .

geography

Bouloc is about 25 kilometers north of Toulouse . Bouloc is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Villaudric in the north, Villematier in the northeast, Villeneuve-lès-Bouloc in the south and east, Castelnau-d'Estrétefonds in the west and south-west and Fronton in the north-west.

history

Bouloc is a bastide founded in 1241 by Raimund VII . But the place already existed before. Pope Calixt II is said to have traveled through the town in 1119.
