Montgeard ( Occitan Montjard ) is a French commune with 487 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitania region (before 2016 Midi-Pyrénées ). Cintegabelle belongs to the Arrondissement of Toulouse and the Canton of Escalquens (until 2015 Nailloux ). The inhabitants are called the Montgeardins .

geography

Montgeard is located about 34 kilometers south of Toulouse in the Lauragais . Montgeard is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Nailloux in the north, Seyre in the northeast, Lagarde in the east, Monestrol and Gibel in the south and southeast, Calmont in the south and Aignes in the west.

The Bastide of Montgeard was founded in 1317.
