Gargas ( Occitan Gargàs ) is a French commune in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Toulouse and the Canton of Villemur-sur-Tarn (until 2015: Canton Fronton ). The 685 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) are called Gargasiens .

geography

Gargas is located about 15 kilometers north-northeast of Toulouse on the Girou , which forms the southern municipal boundary. Gargas is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vacquiers in the north and north-east, Villariès in the east, Labastide-Saint-Sernin in the south, Cépet in the west and south-west and Villeneuve-lès-Bouloc in the north-west.
