Mairie Calmont

Calmont is a municipality with 2371 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) located in southwest France in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitania region (before 2016: Midi-Pyrénées ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Toulouse and is part of the canton of Escalquens (until 2015: canton of Nailloux ). The inhabitants are called Calmontais .

geography

Calmont is located about 38 kilometers southeast of Toulouse in the Lauragais countryside . The Hers-Vif (also: Grand Hers) flows through the municipality . Calmont is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montgeard in the north, Gibel in the east and northeast, Mazères in the east and southeast, Saverdun in the south and southwest, Cintegabelle in the west and northwest and Aignes in the northwest.

The A66 autoroute runs through the municipality .

Calmont is a bastide founded in 1267 by Alfonso de Poitiers .
