Lapeyrouse-Fossat ( Occitan : La Peirosa e Fossat ) is a French commune with 2,821 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region . Bessières belongs to the arrondissement of Toulouse and until 2015 to the canton of Montastruc-la-Conseillère , since then to the canton of Pechbonnieu . The inhabitants are called Lapeyrousien (ne) s .
geography
Lapeyrouse-Fossat is about eleven kilometers northeast of Toulouse . Lapeyrouse-Fossat is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bazus in the north, Castelmaurou in the south and east, Saint-Geniès-Bellevue in the south-west, Saint-Loup-Cammas in the west and Montberon in the north-west.
history
Lapeyrouse is first handed down in 1254. The place belonged to the barony of Castelmaurou. In the course of the centuries until the revolution , different families exercised the manorial rule in the place.
On January 1, 1836, the parishes of Lapeyrouse and Fossat were merged to form today's parish.
