The Chilean national basketball team for women is the selection of Chilean female basketball players that the Federación de Basquetbol de Chile represents on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. The national association joined the world association Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA) in 1935 . In November 2013, the team was ranked 26th in the world rankings for women .

Chile was runner-up at the first edition of the World Cup in 1953 , which is still the greatest success today. In addition, the team won the South American Championships in 1947 , 1950 , 1956 and 1960 .

The team qualified for three of the 18 world championships . The greatest success was winning the silver medal at the first World Cup in 1953 .
