The 1948 South American Basketball Championship for women , the second South American Basketball Championship for women , was held between May 14 and 30, 1948 in Buenos Aires , Argentina , which hosted the championship for the first time. The winner was the host , who won their first South American women's championship unbeaten. For the first time a team from Peru took part in the tournament.
