The Argentine national basketball team of women is the selection of Argentine basketball players that the Confederación Argentina de Básquetbol represents on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. Argentina has competed eight times in world championships , won three medals at American championships and 21 medals at South American championships , including the title in 1948 . The national association was a founding member of the world association Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA) in 1932 . In November 2013 the team was ranked twelfth in the world rankings for women .
International competitions

The team has qualified for a world championship eight times so far . The greatest success was the sixth place at the first World Cup in 1953 .
Argentina at the Olympic Games
So far, the team has not been able to qualify for the Olympic basketball competitions.
Argentina at American Championships
The team has taken part in all eleven American Championships so far and won the silver medal in the 2009 and 2011 events and the bronze medal in 2001 .
Argentina at the South American Championships
The team took part in 32 of the 33 South American Championships and won the gold medal at the 1948 edition . There are also 14 silver medals and seven bronze medals.
Argentina at the Pan American Games
The team achieved fifth place as the best result in five participations in the competitions of the Pan American Games (1991, 1999, 2003 and 2011)
