The 1962 South American Basketball Championship for women , the ninth South American Basketball Championship for women , was held between April 23 and May 8, 1962 in Asunción , Paraguay , which hosted the championship for the second time. The winner was the host , who won the South American Women's Championship for the second time. For the first time a team from Uruguay took part in the tournament.
