The 1968 South American basketball championship , the twenty-second South American basketball championship , took place between April 27 and May 12, 1968 in Asunción , Paraguay , which hosted the championship for the second time. The winner was the national team of Brazil , which won the title for the seventh time.
Each team played against each opponent once, so that each team played seven games (a total of 28 games took place). There were two points for each win and one point for a defeat. In the event of a tie, the basket ratio decided. The team with the most points became South American champions in 1968.
