The 1958 South American Basketball Championship for women , the seventh South American Basketball Championship for women , was held between April 19 and May 8, 1958 in Lima , Peru , which hosted the championship for the second time. The winner was Brazil , which won the South American Women's Championship for the second time.
The game was played in the form of a round-robin tournament with five teams. Each team played against each other exactly twice (back and forth), so that each team played eight games (a total of 20 games were played). There were two points for each win and one point for a defeat. The team with the highest points was the South American women's basketball champions in 1958. In the event of a tie, the direct comparison of the return game decided. Should this result in a draw, the basket ratio from these two games decided.
