Volkan Bayarslan (born January 1, 1978 in Erzurum ) is a Turkish football referee .
Career
Bayarslan passed his referee examination in Istanbul in 2000 at the age of 22. He was inspired by the former FIFA soccer referee Sadık Deda , who was able to persuade Bayarslan to complete the referee training. Until 2011 he was active as a (main) referee in the amateur leagues , and from 2008 to 2011 he was the 4th official in the professional leagues.
He made his debut in the highest Turkish football league, the Süper Lig , on October 30, 2011. Bayarslan led the match between Bursaspor and Manisaspor .
Private
Bayarslan studied geophysics for five years at Trabzon Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi and successfully completed his studies. He is married and has one child.
In his youth he played in the football department of Erzurumspor .
