The Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi (short: KTÜ) in Trabzon in the province of the same name in northern Turkey is the fourth oldest university in Turkey.

history

Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi was founded on May 20, 1955 according to Law 6594 on a proposal by the then MP Mustafa Reşit Tarakçıoğlu and 28 of his friends.

The university participates in the Erasmus program and the Mevlana Exchange Program .

Organizational structure

The KTÜ is represented in various cities in the province of Trabzon with a total of 12 branches, the main branch being the Kanuni campus.

Kanuni Campus (main office)

The highest office is the rectorate. Eleven different faculties follow. Two vocational schools, one for health services and one for tourism and hospitality management, are offered. There are also four institutes and a research center.

Fatih Campus

It is subordinate to the Fatih Faculty of Education and a Faculty of Communication is offered. It is a state conservatory, has a gymnastics and sports school and an institute for educational sciences. The Trabzon vocational school for theology is also affiliated.
