The Peruvian national basketball team for women is the selection of Peruvian female basketball players who represent the Federación Peruana de Basketball on an international level, for example in friendly matches against the teams of other national associations, but also in international competitions. The national association joined the world association Fédération Internationale de Basketball (FIBA) in 1936 . In November 2013, the team was not included in the world rankings for women .

Peru took part in four world championships between 1953 and 1983 , and in 1977 the national team won the South American championships .

The team qualified for four of the 18 world championships . The best results were the seventh places at the world championships in 1953 and 1964 .

The Peruvian team took part in 21 of the 33 South American championships and won the title in 1977 , as well as three silver medals and five bronze medals up to 1989. Since then, the team has not been able to build on its successes, only took part in the championships three times until 2013 and once again reached fourth place in 1999 .
