The 1970 South American Basketball Championship for women , the thirteenth South American Basketball Championship for women , took place between September 22 and October 3, 1970 in Guayaquil , Ecuador , which hosted the championship for the second time. The winner was the Brazilian team , which won the South American Women's Championship for the sixth time, for the fourth time in a row. For the first time a team from Venezuela and a record eight teams took part in the tournament.
