The 1945 South American Basketball Championship , the twelfth South American Basketball Championship , took place between July 17 and August 2, 1945 in Guayaquil , Ecuador , which hosted the championship for the first time. The winner was the national team of Brazil , which won the title for the second time. In addition, the basketball team of Colombia took part in the tournament for the first time.
