The Chilean men's national basketball team represents Chile at international basketball matches. It was one of the most successful national teams in Latin America until 1960 and won two bronze medals at basketball world championships . Subsequently, the team within South America, alongside Brazil and Argentina, was ousted by the teams in Uruguay and Venezuela and could no longer qualify for global finals or Olympic tournaments . So far there has been no qualification for the final tournaments introduced by the continental association FIBA America in 1980 .
