The Mexican national basketball team for men represents Mexico at international basketball matches. It is one of the leading national teams in Central America and takes part relatively regularly in the continental finals at the American Basketball Championship . In the first Olympic basketball competition at the 1936 Olympic Games , she won a bronze medal. This subsequently remained the greatest international success. After the resignation of Manuel Raga , three-time European Cup winner with Ignis Varese and one of the EuroLeague's 50 Greatest Contributors , the national team could not qualify for a global final for decades from the 1976 Olympic Games . This only succeeded in 2013 when they won the American Championship and qualified for the 2014 World Cup (which had already been confirmed with the semi-finals).
