The Texas Legends are a basketball team of NBA G-League , which in Frisco ( Texas is home). They are the farm team of the Dallas Mavericks . From 2009 to 2011 , the coach was Nancy Lieberman , the first head coach in a men's professional basketball league. The Legends won the D-League championship with her in 2009, with a 2-0 win over the Utah Flash . For the 2011/2012 season she was replaced by Del Harris .

The Texas Legends emerged from the Colorado 14ers and participated for the first time in the 2010/11 season in the game operation of the Development League. As the 6th of the Western Conference and a total of 8th of the regular season in the development league, they reached the playoffs in their first season, in which they were eliminated in the first round against the Tulsa 66ers .

For the 2012/2013 season, former Dallas Mavericks player Eduardo Nájera became the new head coach of the Legends.

Venue

The Legends play their home games at Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco , Texas. The arena holds 4,500 spectators for home games. The Texas Tornado ice hockey team is also based in the arena.
