Dominique Jones (born October 15, 1988 in Lake Wales , Florida) is an American basketball player who plays in the NBA D-League for the Springfield Armor . In his senior year of college (2009-10) he was the leading player in the Big East Conference in points per game.
college
In his first year of college, he played in every game from the beginning, averaging 17.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. In the following two years he was able to improve his statistics further. He then decided to leave college and enroll in the NBA Draft .
NBA
Jones was in the 2010 NBA draft in the first round in 25 out of the Memphis Grizzlies recruited and followed for 3 million dollars US to the Dallas Mavericks transferred. In total, due to a broken foot, he only played in 18 games in which he averaged 2.3 points. At the end of the season he won the championship with the Mavs. After the Mavericks had decided at the beginning of the 2013/14 season not to pull the option for the fourth year of his rookie contract, Jones' contract was terminated early in March 2013. He then joined the Springfield Armor , the Brooklyn Nets farm team .
