Nephasth was a Brazilian brutal death metal band from Porto Alegre , Rio Grande do Sul , which was formed in 1997 and broke up in 2005.
history
The band was founded in April 1997 under the name Interior Soul by Rafael Barros (electric guitar), Marcos Moura (electric guitar), Fabio Lentiono (electric bass, vocals) and Mauricio Weimar (drums). Six months later, they released the first demo called Interior Soul . As a result, they received more attention and were able to play their first concerts, together with bands like Krisiun and Rebaelliun .
In late 1999 they changed their name to Nephasth and recorded new material at Studio 1000 in Porto Alegre. The demo The Merciless Face of Evil emerged from this recording session . The demo was self-funded by the band and was used to send it out to various labels and distribute it at concerts. The songs of the demo were on the split album Brazilian Assault by Relapse Records used in the 2,001th
In July 2000, the recording of the debut album Immortal Unholy Triumph began , again in Studio 1000 . The recordings were mixed in the AB studios . Arno Brugalli mixed the album. The phonogram was completed in October of the same year. In October there was also a contract with Massive Management .
One month later the album was mastered in Studio 333 by Bartłomiej Kuźniak , who had previously worked with bands such as Vader , Decapitated and Dies Irae . Jacek Winiewski designed the packaging for the album. Immortal Unholy Triumph was launched in Europe in May 2001 via Mighty Music . released.
The second album Conceived by Inhuman Blood was also released in March 2004 via Mighty Music. The band split in July 2005 due to musical differences between the band members.
style
The change between different tempos and rhythms is stylistically defining. The aggressive growling is also characteristic . The band is compared with other Brazilian bands like Krisiun.
