Mighty Music is a Danish independent label that was founded in 1997.

history

Michael Andersen, who had been a fan of groups like AC / DC , WASP and Europe since 1986 , decided to found Fanzine Emancipation in 1991/1992 . He published some issues of this and also made contacts. In 1994 the first album was released on compact cassette via Emanzipation Productions , before the first contract for the release of an album was signed with Iniquity in 1995/1996 . Then Progress Records / Diehard Music Worldwide approached Andersen, a label to which groups like Illdisposed and Konkhra were also under contract. The collaboration did not last long, however, as Andersen found that the label had little knowledge of extreme metal , whereupon he decided in 1997 to start Mighty Music with a good friend, Bjarke Ahlstrand. Both had previously worked together for various magazines. Andersen has been able to make a living from the music business since 1997, initially working for labels Edelpitch and the Warner Music Group . In 2003 he founded the Target Group , which was initially a music distributor that worked with Metal Blade Records , Century Media and Frontiers Records , among others . The Target Group is now the mother label of Mighty Music. The Nordic Noise Rock Festival is organized by Mighty Music. Around 15 people are currently working for the label.
