Illdisposed ( English "badly disposed") is a death metal band from Aarhus ( Denmark ). The band was founded in 1991, with singer Bo Summer being the only remaining founding member today. The band plays mostly medium-tempo Death Metal . The band has also used electronic samples since their album 1-800 Vindication .

history

Illdisposed was founded in the early 1990s. After a few demos, they contributed a song for the Fuck You, We're from Denmark sampler. A European tour with Wargasm and Sinister followed. A year later, the debut album Four Depressive Seasons was released via Nuclear Blast . At that time the band was still playing brutal death metal without any technical gimmicks. A short time later the EP Return from Tomorrow follows on the small label Die Hard. Guitarist Hans Wagner left the band because of his alcohol problems and was replaced by Morten Gilsted.

In 1995 the second studio album was released with Submit . The band started to vary the tempo of the songs instead of just playing songs in the same style over and over again. Drummer Michael Enevoldsen left the band, went to Panzerchrist and was replaced by the former Caustic guitarist Rolf Hansen. Then Illdisposed went on tour with Haggard and Disgust .

There's Something Rotten in the State of Denmark is the name of the band's third album. The music developed more towards Thrash Metal and Bo Summer made vocal progress. There was another line-up change: Morten Gilsted left the band and was replaced by Tore Mogensen. With Serious a new label was found, which was happy about the good sales of the album. In the meantime, Bo Summer also joined Panzerchrist , so it was quiet around Illdisposed for a while.

In 2000 the Danes returned with the album Retro . This album contains cover versions of Death , Autopsy , Carcass and Obituary among others . Jakob Batten can be heard on bass for the first time. A year later, the fourth studio album, Kokaiinum, followed . At the same time there was a crisis in the band. Singer Bo Summer began drug withdrawal. Drummer Rolf Hansen left the band and was replaced by Thomas Jensen. The previous bass player Jakob Batten has now become a guitarist, but Jonas Kloge plays the bass.

With Roadrunner Records the band found a new record company. The first record for the new company was 1-800 Vindication , produced by Tue Madsen. With this the band achieved their final breakthrough. The following year Illdisposed toured Europe with Ancient and Final Breath . After the tour, the Danes parted ways with Lasse Bak. This was followed by the Wacken Road Show , on which Illdisposed also played Holy Moses , Regicide and Suidakra . After this tour, Martin Thiem (ex- Exmortem ) joined the Danes.

In the summer of 2006, the sixth album Burn Me Wicked was released . Lyrically Bo Summer processes, among other things, his drug withdrawal. In the last song of the album ( Illdispunk'd ) the band took on themselves lyrically. The first stanza is in Danish, the second in German and the third in English. With the album in their luggage, Illdisposed toured Germany with Deadsoil . In December 2007 guitarist Martin Thim left the band for personal reasons. His successor was the former Volbeat guitarist Franz Gottschalk .

On March 28, 2008, the new studio album The Prestige was released. With The Prestige, Illdisposed went back to their roots, because in contrast to 1-800 Vindication and Burn Me Wicked , the album was generally less experimental again.

In July 2011 the band announced on their homepage that Franz “Hellboss” Gottschalk was no longer a member of the band. The Danish guitarist Ken Holst from Crocell was named as his successor .
