Deadsoil was a metalcore band from the Koblenz area , Rhineland-Palatinate . Consists partly of (ex) members of bands like Night in Gales , Copykill , Caliban and Heaven Shall Burn .

history

The band was founded towards the end of 2002 by guitarist Boris Pracht and drummer Christian Bass. The band was formed when the band Copykill broke up . Drummer Bass also left the band Night in Gales. The band had their first appearance in February 2003. This was followed by a tour with Poison the Well . More appearances followed to support bands like Hatebreed , The Haunted , Dew-Scented or Darkest Hour . The band also played not only in Germany, but also in Austria , the Netherlands , Belgium , Switzerland and Spain .

In June 2003 the band recorded the EP Forever the Enemy on Poisonfree.com Records . The EP was later released through Tribunal Records in the US . Towards the end of 2003 the band signed with the German label Lifeforce Records . Shortly before the recordings, guitarist Jens Basten (previously working for Night in Gales) joined the band. The debut album called The Venom Divine was recorded in May 2004 at Berno Studios in Malmö , Sweden . The album was released in Europe in August , later also in the USA, Japan and Australia . Bastardized Records released a limited edition of the album on vinyl . Video recordings for the song History Retold followed shortly after its release. Then came the New Born Hate tour in August with Hatesphere and Born from Pain . In addition, Deadsoil played a small tour with the band Terror .

In February 2005 a tour of the USA followed together with The Warriors , Calico System and Reflux . In May the band played on the We Are the Enemy tour with Destiny and By Night . In the same year the band played at the Exit Festival in Serbia , as well as in Hungary and Denmark .

In January 2006 the band re-entered the studio to record the next album, Sacrifice . It was recorded by Vincent Sorg at Principal Studios in Senden , Germany . The album was mixed by Jean-Francois Dagenais ( Kataklysm ) and mastered by Alan Douches of West West Side Music , Tenafly , New Jersey . This was followed by a tour of Great Britain with The Black Dahlia Murder . In May 2006 Deadsoil organized a tour through Europe together with Illdisposed . The band performed at the With Full Force Festival that same year . A year later the band started writing and recording new tracks and toured Germany and Austria with Machinemade God and Koroded . from.

In 2009 the band broke up due to a few changes - mainly due to the departure of guitarist Jens Basten.

style

The variety of the pieces is particularly characteristic. Fast and slow passages alternate, as do sung passages and shouts . The songs also alternate strongly between aggressive and calm passages.
