Regicide (English for regicide, regicide ( in) ) was a band from Oldenburg . Their style can be described as Violin - rock - or metal designate. She was most recently under contract with FAME Recordings .

history

The band was founded in 2001 by Jan Janssen and Philipp Kehl. Frauke Richter, Heiner Jaspers and Roman Herzig were already involved in the first demo album Traveling Minds (2001). Timo Südhoff and Til Kasmann joined the band in the same year. In 2004 Regicide released their official debut album Viorus on FAME Recordings . On February 24, 2006, their second album, Break the Silence , was released, also on FAME Recordings , produced by Chris Wolff.

Regicide toured among other things as the opening act for In Extremo and in autumn 2004 and April / May 2006 in the opening act for Schandmaul . In 2005 the band was on the road through Germany with the W: O: A roadshow . In the summer of 2005 Regicide played for the first time at several major festivals such as Deichbrand , Rock Hard , Castle Rock and Wacken . In 2006 the WGT and the M'era Luna Festival were added to the list of festivals. Regicide played again at the Deichbrand Festival. Video recordings of the Deichbrand 2006 were used for a self-produced music video entitled An Embracing Space and made available on their Myspace page.

In August 2008 the band announced on their homepage that they would take a break until further notice. Work on the third studio album was discontinued.

After an almost three-year break from the band, the band became active again in 2011 with a line-up change. Birgit Lau ( Mandrake ) became the new singer , the guitar was taken over by Michael Borchers ( Dew-Scented ). On July 4, 2013, Regicide announced their final breakup on their Facebook page. Nevertheless, the work on the new EP Delirious , which was released in July 2014, was finished.
