Devin Ebanks (born October 28, 1989 in Queens , New York ) is an American basketball player who was most recently under contract with the Los Angeles Lakers in the North American professional league NBA .

Career

Ebanks played college basketball for the West Virginia University team between 2008 and 2010 . In his first year he was used around 30 minutes per game and averaged 10.5 points, 7.8  rebounds and 2.7  assists . In the second year he got four minutes more playing time per game and was able to improve his statistics again, so that he got an average of 12.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists. He then signed up for the 2010 NBA draft , in which he was selected in the second round in 43rd place by the Los Angeles Lakers . When he moved to the NBA, his college bests included 22 points and 18 rebounds.

In his first season for the Lakers he was used 20 times and averaged 3.1 points in 5.9 minutes per game. In his second season he got around three times as much playing time, but was only able to score 0.9 points more per game. In the first round of the 2012 NBA play-offs , he was in six of seven games against the Denver Nuggets in the starting five and achieved an average of 4.7 points. He moved into the second round with the Lakers, in which he only played in two games and finally lost to the eventual runner-up Oklahoma City Thunder with his team after four games .

In 2013 Ebanks moved to the Dallas Mavericks farm team , to the Texas Legends in the D-League.
