The American Basketball Championship 2005 (officially: Campeonato FIBA Americas 2005 ( English The FIBA Americas Championship 2005 )) is the 12th edition of this tournament and took place from August 24 to September 4, 2005 in the Dominican capital, Santo Domingo .
