The Panamanian national basketball team for men represents Panama at international basketball matches. She is one of the better national teams in Central America and is a multiple medal winner at the Central American Championships . In addition to participating in the 1968 Olympic Games , it was enough to make four appearances in the final round of the World Basketball Championships . The best placement in a global finals was a ninth place at the World Championships in 1970 and 1982. Although qualified, the national team was not allowed to take part in the continental finals of the American Basketball Championship in 2013 , as the supporting association was suspended by the FIBA . As a result, Mexico took Panama's place in the 2013 finals.
