Sven Scheuer (born January 19, 1971 in Böblingen ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper . He spent most of his career as a substitute goalkeeper at Bayern Munich .
Career
societies
From the age of seven to seventeen, Scheuer went through all youth teams of the sports association based in his birthplace before signing a professional contract with FC Bayern Munich in 1988 . During his time at FC Bayern there were seldom opportunities for appearances, as he had two strong goalkeepers in front of him, Raimond Aumann and later Oliver Kahn .
From the 1989/90 season he was given the opportunity to distinguish himself internationally: On September 13, 1989, he was in Glasgow , in the 3-1 victory of his team in the first round of the European Cup against the Rangers , 90 minutes in the gate. This was also the case three days later at its Bundesliga premiere when Bayern beat VfL Bochum 5-1 . Of his 20 games for FC Bayern Munich, he played ten times in the 1994/95 season alone and was able to win numerous titles with the club - although rarely directly involved. Due to negative headlines, he was suspended from gaming operations together with Mario Basler in 1999.
In the following years he changed clubs frequently, but received only a few appearances - also due to injuries. In the 2nd Bundesliga he played six more times for 1. FC Saarbrücken and eight times for VfL Osnabrück . He ended his career in 2005 in the Württemberg regional league at TSV Schönaich, the club from the community of the same name .
National team
Scheuer was on October 30, 1990 in Diekirch, Luxembourg, at the start of qualification for the U21 European Championship 1992 in the goal of the German U21 national team . The game against hosts Luxembourg was won 3-0 and was his only international match . Jens Lehmann and Stefan Klos were in goal at the other games in the ultimately successful European Championship qualification .
