The Spvgg Freudenstadt is a sports club from Freudenstadt . The association has around 400 members. The Spvgg Freudenstadt became famous for its footballers, who played in the third-class first amateur league Black Forest-Bodensee in 1972/73 and 1974/75 to 1976/77 and took part in the DFB Cup twice.
history
The association was founded on March 9, 1920. With the championship in the 2nd amateur league, season 4, the footballers of Spvgg Freudenstadt celebrated their first major success in the 1971/72 season. After a one- and three-year interlude in the 1st amateur league Black Forest-Bodensee , he returned to the 2nd amateur league, which was renamed the State League, Season III in 1978/79. Spvgg stayed there for four years, after relegation in 1982/83 the Kurstädter played for many years in the district league and even for three seasons in the district league A, Northern Black Forest.
Only with the championship in 2006/07 in the Northern Black Forest district league succeeded in returning to the state league after 24 years. They got out of this in 2015, but returned directly in 2016. In 2018 they were relegated again.
