The TV Gültstein is a sports club from the Württemberg Herrenberg belonging Gültstein . The club has around 950 members in the gymnastics, soccer, tennis, volleyball and hiking departments. TV Gültstein known for his footballers who in the 1960s and 1970s, several years in the third-rate first amateur league Nordwürttemberg played, and in the season 1974/75 at the German Cup took part.
history
The association was founded in April 1926. With the championship in the 2nd amateur league, season 6, the footballers of TV Validstein celebrated their first major success in the 1964/65 season. In the following round of promotion to the 1st amateur league , they prevailed against Normannia Gmünd , TSG Backnang and Sportvg Feuerbach . However, the descent from the top amateur class took place after the first season.
After the TV Validstein was always in the top group of the 2nd amateur league in the next few years, they succeeded in 1970 with a 2-1 victory in the decider for the championship in the 2nd amateur league against FV Zuffenhausen (May 28, 1970 in Böblingen) the promotion to the 1st amateur league North Württemberg . The climax followed in 1973, when the WFV Cup winners qualified for participation in the DFB Cup. In the first main round, the then top team from Borussia Mönchengladbach around Berti Vogts , Rainer Bonhof and Jupp Heynckes was drawn from TV Validstein . In front of 7,000 spectators in the overcrowded Ammerstadion in Validstein , Borussia won the game 5-0.
