The SC Vahr-Blockdiek is a sports club from the Bremen district of Vahr . The first soccer team played for two years in the fourth-class Oberliga Niedersachsen / Bremen .

history

TuS Vahr was founded in 1959 . Its football department became independent as SC Vahr on March 17, 1976 and merged in 2005 with SV Blockdiek, founded in 1968, to form SC Vahr-Blockdiek .

After two ascents in a row, the TuS footballers reached the Landesliga Bremen in 1973 , at that time the highest Bremen amateur league. In 1977 the team had to relegate in their first full season as SC Vahr, but managed to get promoted again immediately. In 1984 the SCV Bremen champion and achieved third place in the promotion round behind the Hummelsbütteler SV and Eintracht Nordhorn . Ten years later, the team qualified for the newly created Oberliga Niedersachsen / Bremen. After two years, the "Vahraonen" called players had to relegate to the association league.

In 1998, the SCV reached again the runner-up of the Association League Bremen and had in 2000 in the division Bremen descend. Two years later, the rise succeeded. Two more relegations in a row led the club in 2010 to the district league , where it still plays today. With Hendrik Völzke , the club produced a Bundesliga player. The A-youth of the club reached the DFB-Juniors-Club Cup three times . In the 1994/95 season , the team reached the quarter-finals, where they were only just defeated by Hamburger SV 3: 4.
